Thank you *very* much for these. This is sterling work, and the patches have
been incorporated with changes only to account for other pending patches.

I have played with --update, and not seen the repeat glitch. Perhaps you can
tell me how to trigger it, or send me an example pair of cvs logs to do so.

Thanks again; these will be appearing in 2.48, which should be out in the next
couple of days.
