Eggnog
   Alvin W. Fitzpatrick Serves 12
 
Ingredients:
  • 4 c. whole milk
  • 2 lg cans (16oz.) evaporated milk (usually use Pet)
  • 8 Egg Yolks
  • 1 can condensed milk (usually use Magnolia)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tbsp. rum extract (optional... usually leave out)
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 'jigger' of rum per serving (1 1/4 c. if you add all at once)

Scald whole milk and evaporated milk, then remove from heat. Beat egg yolks, condensed milk, and salt, and gradually add this to the scalded milk (slowly drip it in). After this is all combined, stir in vanilla, rum extract, and nutmeg. Whip all with elec tric mixer or wisk well. Server hot or cold.

If you add the rum beforehand, try it frozen!
