1.3 and readline; mail archives

1.) anyone else have trouble with the latest 1.3 and readline? i had a
beta version of 1.3 from debian installed previously, and the delete
and history keys worked fine. but when i compiled guile 1.3 myself
from latest sources, i can neither delete nor get history, even though
linked to libreadline. i notice that the debian package linked to
ncurses rather than termcap, which seems to be the default in the
latest source. could that be the problem? i tried linking guile to
lncurses rather than termcap, but that didnt solve it.

2.) re/ mail archives for guile: i checked the archives abd the latest 
message was like august 18, yet this list seems pretty active. whats
the deal?
