Right, my error. I was thinking about some other language.

I did memory debugging of Guile/SART some time ago (year or so), using
Sun's SparcWorks. It didn't report any leaks, as expected. I could
redo it, but right now I have higher priorities, when SART is
concerned. Perhaps it'd be a good idea for the original poster to run
a loop that does lots of things and see if the number of reported
leaks increases.

I refuse to use .sig
