Argh!  On the machine I tested with ASDF-INSTALL obviously downloaded
KMRCL 1.84 but then decided to compile and load an old version (1.78)
which it found somewhere on the hard disk (due to my setup in the init
file).  Works fine with 1.84 - sorry for the noise.
