[Lispweb] problems installing lisp on xen vps on amd64 machine

I could not get sbcl to work on xen / amd64
i also could not get allegro cl to work on it.
the executable lisp files don't seem to be recognized by the shell

interestingly this problem happens only with one of my two hosting
providers, both using xen, amd64, but slightly different machines.
