Which is already documented in the README file. Has been for years, I think.

Uhh... it's a plain text file, open it in any editor, and you have the
possibility to do anything you want with it.

Works just fine for me.

Maybe you didn't realize that you need to rebuild the .fo file, not just
the .ps/.pdf, for this to have any effect.
