[args] in service description confusing

Hi Ben,

You got it. That's what I did until I found the other explanation. Probably,
I was just plain lazy to read the instructions as to 'how to read the book',
but still.

Cheers

Hi Hans,

I wrote the book section based on those same notes you found. Was the
problem that you were typing [args] literally in your command?

On 3/21/07, Hans Polak <Hans.Polak at capgemini.com> wrote:

Hi,

I've had two hard days trying to install and configure SVN due to the [args]
statement in your book.

sc create svn binpath= "\"C:\program files\Subversion\bin\svnserve.exe\"
--service [args]" displayname= "Subversion Server" depend= Tcpip start= auto

The text I found here was clarifying:

http://svn.collab.net/repos/svn/trunk/notes/windows-service.txt

I changed the statement and everything is working fine.

sc create svn binpath= "\"C:\program files\Subversion\bin\svnserve.exe\"
--service --root \"C:\svn\repos\"" displayname= "Subversion Server" depend=
Tcpip start= auto

Cheers,
