 I sympathize with your concerns.  I just wonder how much havoc this
actually causes in the real world.  MS Office formats dating back to 1997
use double-byte Unicode for text regions.  The newer formats (OpenOffice,
LibreOffice, MS Office), as you've pointed out, are all zipped XML.  It
would only be by sheer fluke that Subversion would actually spot and expand
a keyword placeholder in any those formats.
