Sure, editing variations by had would be hard.  And changins all
occurrences of "cho" to "Cho Chikun" in comments, using any existing
commentary program, would be hard.  Text editors have their place.

Applications should write linebreaks in the manner most convenient 
on the OS they run under, specifically so text editors can be used
to make repairs.

Anyway, It's pretty pointless to say both that apps should write using one style
but should read any style.
