thank you for this --- yes, it has helped, but in a roundabout way. I still
couldn't reproduce the bug as is, but with the debug log you included, I found
a bug another way, which I'm 95% certain is the bug you're seeing. I attach
an interim cvs2cl.pl version; please can you run this in your environment, and
tell me if the issue persists? If it doesn't, this will form the basis of the
next update of cvs2cl.pl.
