Issue 115 in svnbook: "Italic" is not italic

In the .pdf version of the svnbook, viewed on my Mac, Ubuntu and iPad:

There is a section in the preface, page xix of version 3831, that is  
called "Conventions Used in This Book".  One of the items is "Italic".   
Yet, it does not appear italicised in the pdf file.

It's beyond the scope of my own abilities to fix this small problem.
