Frustration towards Subversion's behavior is mis-aimed if voiced in this  
issue tracker.  Here, we bother only with documenting that behavior.  As  
such, you're correct that the book should discuss Subversion's handling of  
UTF-16-encoded files.  Thanks for the report.
